CLOSE MY EYES AND THE SEA IS STILL IN MOTION
This project is the result of an artist residency at Seacourt Print Workshop in Northern Ireland between September and December of 2011.
I close my eyes and the sea continues moving. Dreams are corrupt, so I stopped dreaming. Just seek my space, cold, between two waves. The sea continues in movement at night, even when it is only a a repeated whisper in the distance, even if it is only a faint sound.
This work consists of four prints and a sculpture located on a table covered with a white cloth. The prints are full of marks, incisions, grooves, lines and squiggles. Cut words, spaces and silences. Present silence but absent. They talk but remain silent ... accumulated times, forged in iron.
Salt etch, screen print and steel. 82 x 82 cm each print.
